Probably because the more you put in a single sketch, the more complicated it gets and the more complicated it gets, the more likely it is to introduce errors that may bite you down the line. Or if you can’t, just make a parallel construction line from origin to the start of your shape, with it’s endpoint coincident to origin. There are many more cases of this where a modern CAD convenience doesn’t exist in FreeCAD so you have to work around it.įinally, I believe you can make lines coincident to a point. You have to make sure you stick by your standards and avoid overlapping geometry in your sketches. This is the closest to what you’re asking for, but not flawless. It also has an Export Geometry function in sketcher so that you can export portions of a sketch for use with a pad, pocket etc. This removes the re-sketch step mentioned earlier. You’ll have more options if you use linkstage3 fork of FreeCAD which offers external geometry to be non-construction.
